How sad to see William Parker Sports College has been put in special measures.

My son started at William Parker in the same term that Mr Greenup took over. Mr Greenup was a fantastic headmaster.

He changed the uniform to accommodate the boys, introducing polo shirts for summer and hoodies and baseball caps for winter, as well as the blazers.

He upped the discipline so that the boys behaved well.

He also restored daily assemblies.

When my son had a bullying problem, it was dealt with on the same day and I was always kept well-informed.

The teaching was excellent as well.

Let us hope the school can resolve these problems, and boys can once again be proud to say “I went to William Parker”.
