‘The old Mall and Bush...’

MY mother and I lived several miles from Buckingham Palace in Shepherds Bush. We went to the Mall and I watched in awe at the procession and all the amazing coaches.

I remember having a cardboard periscope, a Coronation Cup and spoon. My mother died a few years ago so I know not what happened to them.

Now as I watch the weather forecasts for Hastings, I remember why I moved to Florida, but miss the friendship of the crew at the Observer on the rotary press.
