The bombing of the Swan and Albany Hotels May 23, 1943.

Around noon on May 23, 1943, a bombing raid over Hastings resulted in the deaths of 11 Canadian serviceman in the Albany Hotel and 15 civilians in the Swan Hotel.

The Hastings & St Leonards Veterans Association are holding two parades and services to commemorate their sacrifice.

On Saturday, May 21, we are parading at 2pm outside Albany Court, Hastings seafront behind Debenhams, followed by a service and wreath laying at the Holy Trinity Church in Robertson Street.

On Sunday, May 22, we are parading in Swan Gardens, High Street at 2pm followed by a service in St Clement’s Church. All are welcome to join us in.
