This is perhaps a little late but I wonder if I might, through the medium of your newspaper, express our very sincere appreciation for the fantastic support given to the Salvation Army over Christmas by the wonderful people of Hastings and the surrounding area.

Many people know something of the work that the Salvation Army does internationally, providing healthcare, education, general relief work, support for victims of human trafficking and so on.

In this country, we do many of the same sort of things and in our local area we are able to provide very basic help and support to many different people.

People often tell us that we are wonderful people – we really are not!

We can do what we do only because of the kindness and generosity of people such as yourselves. So please people of Hastings, a massive ‘thank you’ to you all and please accept our very good wishes for a wonderful 2016.
