First-class care at Crest House

Having read the article about the Care Quality Commission's (CQC) report on Crest House, I felt I must write to tell you of my family's experience of this care home.

My elderly mother was at Crest House for two-and-a-half years during which time she received nothing but first-class care together with love and friendship from the owner, manager and all the staff.

My mother’s care plan was always available and I was asked to sign it periodically.

My mother always felt safe at Crest House and looked upon it as her home.

The management was always accommodating of the visiting great grandchildren which made an elderly lady very happy!

Unfortunately, after a five-week stay in hospital recently, she was in need of full nursing care and could not return to Crest House.

Whilst I appreciate that paperwork is important, surely the most important aspect is the care that the residents and their families receive?

I’m pleased that the CQC recognised this as being good.
