Calling for a better bus service
THE West Marina Gardens Residents Association has issued a petition to Stagecoach calling for an extension of the hours that the 98/99 bus runs.
Currently you cannot get a bus from Hastings to West Marina, Glyne Gap, Bexhill or Eastbourne after around 6.30pm.
This means that people who live west of London Road do not have the same access to the amenities and entertainments in Hastings. Nor can people travel by bus to and from Bexhill and Eastbourne to access entertainment there.
Many people do not realise such a ridiculous state of affairs exists and it is high time it was put right. Stagecoach has hinted that, if there were enough support for later services, it would look at the situation.
Readers can sign the petition at The One Cafe at the bottom of London Road, The Roomz in Western Road and The Marina Fountain, with new locations added each day.
The petition will be in Hastings in the next few days and it will be available to sign until early March so please look out for it and add your support.
