But working in Hastings I expect more from '˜service'

I would like to draw attention to the number 28 bus '˜service'.

Last week I waited for this bus from the town centre only for it to turn up 50 minutes late.

This is meant to be an hourly service.

I asked the driver why he was so late and he just shrugged and said he had contacted the depot and was told to carry on.

I rang the Silverhill depot to complain, only to be told that there were roadworks along The Ridge.

I have been along The Ridge several times and not been held up for that amount of time.

I was also told there is an ‘app’ I can use on my phone that will inform me when a bus will be delayed.

This would be fantastic if only I had that facility.

I am sure many of my fellow passengers do not have a mobile phone let alone an ‘app’.

For as long as I can remember the number 28 has been frequently late or not turned up at all.

This route serves the West Hill, Ore Village and The Ridge along to the Conquest. It is the only one that way to the hospital.

Surely we deserve a better service than this.

When a bus turns up on time it is greeted with a cheer from any hopeful passengers.

I hope other would-be passengers will join me in my protest and get a reliable service for everyone.
