A poem to mark royal birthday

The poem I have composed below as a '˜thought dedication' for the year of Her Majesty's 90th birthday, has been included in The Queen's Birthday Book.

HEARTFELT

Of the cause of freedom,

hold eternal vigilance; but don’t spread alarm.

Of the cause of love, -

an infant in your arms.

When someone is without a prayer,

be guardian of good thoughts for them.

When somebody is alone, resolve to be there.

Imbue warmth, and goodwill.

Take time to speak good words, as well as to share.

Be a friend that cannot be replaced.

Extend compassion without compare.

Heartfelt and loving, plus tender too.

Pause and show often that your gestures are true.

Consolidate goodwill through reflecting the same; -

so wherever you are, love is in the frame.

Remarkable people need not be rare

When everybody would wish to feel:

“I am so glad you care.”
