ALEXANDRA Park was transformed into a children’s playground on Sunday with a host of entertainment on offer.
Spring Day@the Park with its own fairground, play and craft sessions, a treasure hunt, competitions, food stands and live music, attracted hundreds of families. Michelle Taylor, who organised the event with Louise Kelleher, owner of Eat@ cafe, said the event – now in its third year – was a success despite the lack of sunshine. “Considering the overcast weather, there was a good turnout,” she added. “All the businesses that took part were local so it was an excuse to get together and show off what we have in Hastings.”
And the fun raised money for good causes too. All entries to the cake competition were sold off after judging took place, raising £50 for Hastings RNLI. The next event of this kind, Summer Day@The Park is to be held at Alexandra Park on September 1.
