A NEW project which inspires children to make their own toys has been given a £250 boost.

The funds were donated to the Jastu kids club based in Queens Road by Hastings Police to help buy craft items and equipment.

Jastu promotes more traditional play instead of computer activities and children are encouraged to use their own creative skills to have fun in a safe environment.

A cheque was presented to club chairman Jason Eames by PCSO Lucy Paffett, of Castle Neighbourhood Police Team.

Inspector Mark Bright, of Hastings police, said: “Jastu is a kid’s club that inspires children to use their imagination to make exciting toys out of everyday items.
