A TALENTED teenage kart racing driver made a quick pit stop at a St Leonards school to talk to pupils about his career.

Jack Barlow, 16 who is from Pett, visited Little Ridge Community Primary School earlier this month.

The Hastings College A-level student talked about how he won the Ginetta Super One Junior Rotax crown this year.

Pupils grilled him on how much fuel he uses and how often he has to change his tyres during a race.

Jack also brought in his trophies and racing outfit to show the Year 6 class.

His visit was part of the class’s Learning Journey module which is about Grand Prix racing. He said: “This was the first time I had ever done a talk like this, so I was very excited but also nervous beforehand.

“But the kids were so enthusiastic and excited to hear all about track life and racing that I would really like to do some more talks like this in the future.”
