A volunteer who has clocked up more than 30 years has received a special award for her efforts.
Judith Monk has been volunteering at Hastings & Rother YMCA since 1981.
Judith joined the YMCA as club coach of their gymnastics club and joined the Board on retiring from coaching.
When Chris Gimblett the former chairman died suddenly in 2006 Judith took the helm.
She has been helping Hastings & Rother YMCA change and develop ever since.
Judith said that the YMCA helped her when she was a young mother as they offered low cost activities and a safe and happy place to meet with and make friends.
She wanted to repay this with using her time and skills to give something back.
Judith believes that if everyone gave, even just an hour a week to charity work, they would soon discover that the benefits they receive in fulfilment and health will always outweigh their generosity.
The 25 year award was given to Judith by Hastings Voluntary Action for long service volunteering though she has done another eight years.
Hastings & Rother YMCA has served the town since 1972.
