Jerwood events on festive period

To coincide with the current exhibition at Jerwood Gallery, the Jerwood Drawing Prize 2012, will be workshops for adults and children.

On December 19, prize shortlisted artist Judith Alder will be holding a drawing workshop from 1pm to 3pm.

Judith is a visual artist whose work forms an investgative process.

Admission is £10 including general gallery admission. To book call 01424 728377.

Then on December 22 is a children’s drawing workshop with performer, artist, writer and CBBC Thyme Rocket Poet Joseph Coelho.

For this festive special, Joseph will be leading children on a magical journey through the Jerwood Drawing Prize exhibition, exploring drawing interactively through poetry and art.

Tickets are £12 for one adult and one child. Additional adults and children are £6. Call 01424 728377 to book.

The Hastings Philharmonic Choir will be performing a concert of traditional favourites at the gallery on December 20, accompanied by the ‘Celebration’ String Quartet.

Performance starts at 7.30, and the ticket price of £15 includes gallery admission from 6pm to 9pm.
