Jazz giants to play at De La Warr
Two giants of the jazz world are set to play at the De La Warr Pavilion.
Between them Stan Tracey and Keith Tippett have won countless awards and worked with an eclectic array of artists including Sonny Rollins, Stan Getz and King Crimson.
Stan Tracey's distinguished career has spanned six decades of flourishing creativity.
Stan has been a prolific composer, writing over twenty commissions and the music for forty of his own albums. His first major work 'Under Milk Wood' inspired by Dylan Thomas' radio play of the same title, is widely recognised as a masterpiece.
Keith Tippett has been at the forefront of contemporary European jazz and new music for over 30 years as a pianist, composer, bandleader, band member and musical educator.
Tippett's work ranges from his unique free improvisation as a solo pianist and with duos and small groups such as the quartet Mujician, to compositions for, and performances with, contemporary classical groups.
Stan Tracey and Keith Tippet perform on Friday May 15.
