Hastings youngster Jake Davis saw his dream of making a splash in his own hydrotherapy pool come one step closer last week with a donation of £250 from local insurance broker Hastings Direct.
Jake suffers from cerebral palsy and dislocated hips which cause him a lot of discomfort. A hydrotherapy pool installed at his home, at a cost of around £26,000, will provide him with some freedom from his wheelchair whilst strengthening his muscles and joints.
Hastings Direct (HD) donated the cash from its A Helping Hand project which makes financial, professional and physical support available to the local community.
Jake’s mum, Becky, thanked HD for the donation and the offer to provide advice on further avenues of fundraising to help Jake reach his goal, adding: “With the support of such a prestigious local company, we feel confident that we’ll soon reach our goal to get that hydrotherapy pool for Jake!”
Jay Wootten, community liaison at HD, said: “The work the family has done since October to raise £14,000 is superb. We know our donation will be put to good use, and it was a pleasure to present this to Jake over a cup of tea!”
