PREPARATIONS are underway for this year’s upcoming Hastings Town and Country Show.
The event, which is in its fourth year, will be held in Alexandra Park on Saturday, July 21 and Sunday, July 22.
The show opens at 10am and closes each day at 5pm.
Opening the show will be Hastings Mayor Cllr Alan Roberts and Mayoress Mrs Helen Prescott will be formally opening the show on the Saturday at noon.
There will be something for everyone, from the Swords of Chivalry medieval re-enactment village, Totally Ponies, Totally Goats, children’s entertainment, children’s farm, as well as ferret racing, Totally Terriers, and birds of prey flying displays.
On the Sunday there will be a companion dog show and all proceeds from entries will go to Marie Curie Cancer Care.
Visitors can also try out stick furniture making and pole latheing skills, and sample and buy in the many arts, crafts and gifts marquees, as well as lifestyle and food stalls.
There will be a licensed bar featuring real ale and Scrumpy.
A spokesman for organisers Oakleigh Fairs said: “After the success of the shows in the last three years, we are really looking forward to returning to Alexandra Park. It’s just the perfect setting for a family-based event, just a stroll or a bike ride from the town centre, with the stunning park itself providing the perfect backdrop to what will be, once again a super weekend.”
Entry is £5, £4 for concessionary rates, and children go for £2. A family ticket for two adults and two children is £12.
