RENOWNED jazz pianist Robert Mitchell gave a well-received performance at youth project Respond Academy.

The musician came to St Leonards last Friday evening (January 25) as part of his UK tour to promote his latest album The Glimpse, comprising solo left-hand only piano pieces.

That afternoon, Robert had run a free workshop for the young Respond Academy members.

His evening performance featured older compositions as well as pieces from the forthcoming album.

Robert is behind the first ever international left hand only piano festival, which is to take place in London in March.
