Council bosses are inviting applications from experienced arts or community organisations or individuals to programme, market, manage and deliver St Leonards Festival.
The event takes place in Warrior Square Gardens and the surrounding area, featuring performances, workshops, children’s activities, food and other entertainment.
Provisional dates for the next two years are the first weekend of July 2016 and the first weekend of July in 2017.
The successful candidate will have the opportunity for two consecutive years to develop the festival and build relationships with the community, businesses, artists and potential funders.
Hastings Borough Council will provide £10,000 per year for the commission and the successful candidate will be expected to raise additional funds to deliver the programme they propose.
The programme will bring together people to celebrate the diverse community of St Leonards and promote St Leonards as a cultural destination to people from outside the area.
Councillor Dawn Poole, the council’s lead member for regeneration, said: “This is an exciting opportunity to work closely with the St Leonards Festival Working Group to build on the traditions and successes of the festival in recent years but also to develop the brand of the festival to give it a clear direction for the future that embraces the rich diversity of businesses, artists and the community in the area.”
All applications must be submitted by noon on Thursday, December 10.
