Hauschka live at the De La Warr Pavilion.
This was the latest in a series of concerts at the De La Warr that have de-constructed the piano and laid bare the incredible sound range of the instrument.

Hauschka is Dusseldorf based pianist and composer Volker Bertelmann who changes and distorts the voice of the piano by clamping wedges of felt, rubber and leather between its strings, as well as using an array of objects, including ping pong balls, to manipulate the sound.
The resulting effect is a mesmerising feat of harmonic beauty.
The rhythmic, percussive, sound of the prepared piano evoked a feeling of a train passing over tracks through European countryside, overlaid with a palette of sounds that created moving images through the train window.
Supporting Bertelmann was pianist and sound artist Sarah Nicolls who proved to be a revelation.
She opened with a shimmering rendition of Debussy's Cathedral Engloutie before moving to an upright piano, with innards exposed, which she had augmented with spinning motors that struck the strings and a revolving bicycle wheel wired to a sound sensor.
The motions of her hands and body were captured and turned into electronic sounds and signals during a stunning 30 minute long improvised piece.
In all another top quality sonic firework display from the De La Warr.
