THESE fearless amateur actresses took centre stage when they stripped down to their bare essentials to raise money for charity.
The cast of Calendar Girls at the Stables Theatre posed nude for their own calendar photo-shoot to raise funds for St Michael’s Hospice. It is aimed at coinciding with their performance which runs from February 1 to 9. The play tells the story of a group of women who posed for a calendar to raise funds for charity in memory of a dear friend.
The cast have received support from other organisations to assist with the production of the calendar, including Caravelle Creations Ltd, Eastbourne Electric and Peter Mould Theatre Photography. Each has provided financial and creative support to make the calendar.
Director Nicky Harris said: “From someone who has been touched by cancer, I know how important it is to be doing something positive and this is one of the things that drew me to this play.
“It is very funny, well written and has a real message.”
The calendar is prices £5 and available from all St Michael’s Hospice shops and also from the hospice on 01424 445177.
