An event took place last week (7th October) when Hastings Youth Awards and Hastings Got Culture came together at the White Rock Theatre.

Over 250 people attended the special youth awards ceremony which was opened by the Mayor, Cllr Alan Roberts and was organised by the Youth Council supported by Hastings Borough Council and Hastings Interfaith forum.

The awards ceremony was to recognise the hard work, outstanding contribution and achievement and tremendous efforts local youth groups and individuals provide for communities in the borough. Hastings Got Culture gave a variety of performances which highlighted the diversity of local communities.

Lead member for community services, Cllr Kim Forward said: “This was a brilliant event bringing together many young people to reward them for their creativity and efforts within their local communities. Awards were given to eleven individuals and fifteen groups during the celebration. Congratulations to them all!”
