A Hastings woman has been jailed for 13 months after after stealing £4,000 worth of gold in a burglary.
Jessica Hay, 22, of Church Road, St Leonards, burgled a property in Jacobs Acre on December 11 with Lee Johnson, 19, of London Road.
Police were alerted to the suspects within four hours of the report and arrested them shortly after.
Johnson was jailed for 21 months and Hay for 13 months when they appeared at Lewes Crown Court.
Chief Inspector Katy Woolford said, “Good results such as these are the reason for our ‘Don’t bother in Rother’ message.
“But we couldn’t be so confident in that message without local residents supporting us by reporting suspicious behaviour.
“These suspects were caught within hours of the report thanks to patrolling police officers and PCSOs quickly responding to credible information from Bexhillians; I’d like to thank all involved.
“Let’s keep it up and ensure burglars across Rother District continue being deterred or arrested, charged and sentenced.”
