Hastings Philharmonic Choir

Our Vivaldi concert in November was a great success; a full house and a wonderful response from the audience. The talented soloists included one of our own sopranos, Lin Westcott, and the ‘Four Seasons’ was played superbly by our guest violinist, Ӧzcan Ulucan. The choir is fortunate to have access to performers of such calibre.

Our Annual Christmas Concert on Saturday 19th December at St. Mary in the Castle, includes Carols for all, a brass ensemble, a children’s choir and the now traditional solo from our Conductor, Márcio da Silva. His range of talents cover conducting, singing and continually inspiring the choir to find a fresh interpretation in every piece we attempt, even familiar and well-loved carols. Details and tickets for the concert can be obtained from our website (see below), Hastings Information Centre, IMAGEN Gallery or from the box Office tel. 01424 552119

In January we start rehearsals for Brahms’ ‘German Requiem’ a most moving and tuneful work. If your New Year Resolutions include singing, you will find a warm welcome and plenty of support in our friendly choir.

We meet at the Tabernacle in Cambridge Road, at 7.00p.m. on Wednesdays. For more information about joining call 01424 431442, visit the website at www.hastingsphilchoir.org.uk or just turn up and join in.
