Hastings Philharmonic Choir

The Choir has been enjoying a well-earned rest after a challenging but triumphant season that ended in July. Now we are getting excited about resuming rehearsals on Wednesday 16th September. We shall be singing Vivaldi’s ‘Gloria’ and his ‘Magnificat,’ some of the most uplifting and best-loved music in the Baroque repertoire. We shall also be honoured to have as guest performer the celebrated violinist , Ӧzcan Ulucan, to play Vivaldi’s ‘The Four Seasons,’ What a contrast from last season’s equally wonderful programme!

One of the most enjoyable things about this choir is the range of choral works that members either already know, or are eager to attempt in the spirit of learning something different. Our charismatic Conductor, Márcio da Silva, guides us superbly in both familiar and unfamiliar works and has helped us to reach new heights of musical experience.

If you have wanted to join a choir but have hesitated, you can rest assured that you will have accomplished singers around you if some of the pieces are new to you, and you will be made very welcome.

The Choir is very friendly and meets at the Tabernacle in Cambridge Road, at 7.00p.m. on Wednesdays. For more information about joining call 01424 431442, visit the website at www.hastingsphilchoir.org.uk or just turn up and join in.
