Hastings Philharmonic Choir

The Choir is feeling very gratified by the reception the audience gave us at our concert on 4th July. The music was sublime, spiritual and in complete contrast to our performance of ‘Carmina Burana’ in April. We are delighted that a good number of people who joined us for the Spring romp have stayed with us and enjoyed the very different type of singing including Gregorian Chant, A Cappella and modern 8 part choral works.

In September we restart rehearsals for a vibrant Vivaldi experience. The November concert will include his much-loved ‘Gloria’, the ‘Magnificat’ and ever popular, ‘The Four Seasons’ for violin. If you have not sung the ‘Gloria’ but would like to, this will be a great opportunity to learn it with confidence amongst experienced singers. If you already know it you will surely want to sing it again.

The choir is very friendly and welcomes new members. We meet at the Tabernacle in Cambridge Road, at 7.00p.m. on Wednesdays. For more information about joining call 01424 431442, visit the website at www.hastingsphilchoir.org.uk or just turn up and join in.
