THOUSANDS of performers will be taking to the stage at the White Rock Theatre over the coming weeks as the Hastings Musical Festival gets under way.
The much-loved annual event kicks off on Monday, with organisers promising one of the biggest and best festivals to date.
Among the highlights are the rock bands evening on Wednesday, March 2 from 6pm which is being judged by Paul Roberts, of The Stranglers, and includes an appearance from this year’s special guest, Roger Daltrey of The Who.
As ever, the piano concerto competition will be hotly contested, with the final pencilled in for Saturday, March 12 at 6pm. Sir Philip Ledger CBE adjudicates over what is traditionally one of the most popular classes.
Elsewhere Dame Beryl Grey visits Hastings on Tuesday, March 15 from 6pm for the silver and gold dance sessions, and Downtown singer Petula Clark CBE will be among the audience for the festival finale on Saturday, March 19 from 6.45pm.
A full programme of events is available now from the venue, priced £4, and more details can be found online at www.hastingsmusicalfestival.co.uk.
