A Hastings museum’s mascot rat has gone missing with a reward out for its return.

The True Crime Museum’s Jack ‘The Rat’ Mcvitie has been missing since 5pm on Saturday (September 19).

A free trip around the museum is being offered to anyone who brings back the beloved mascot.

Museum assistant Liam Upjohn said everyone at the museum is upset by what they think was a theft.

“He was last seen on Saturday then all of a sudden he disappeared – it’s very upsetting,” he said.

“It would be nice to get him back.

“We reckon he has been stolen as we’ve checked everywhere and there’s no where else he could have gone.”

Jack is used a lot on social media and welcomes visitors to the museum at the entrance.

Anyone with any information should call the museum on 01424 420115.
