A Hastings man has been arrested in connection with an assault outside a pub which left the victim partially blinded.

The 53-year-old victim spoke anonymously to the Observer about the life-changing effect the attack outside the Carlisle pub in February has had on his life on Friday (April 15).

Following his plea, a 45-year-old man from the town has now been arrested on suspicion of GBH and remains in police custody.

A 48-year-old man from St Leonards has already been arrested on suspicion of GBH and has been bailed until June 19 while investigations continue.

Police are looking to speak to the Hell’s Angels’ Sussex chapter president following the attack on Pelham Street at around midnight on Saturday, February 20.

Anyone with information is urged to contact police on 101@sussex.pnn.police.uk quoting Operation Nuneaton.
