A TOWN-wide mufti day held to raise cash for St Michael’s Hospice has been hailed a success by organisers.

Staff at the Upper Maze Hill charity in St Leonards do not know the final total but are predicting a healthy boost after being inundated with groups and schools wanting to join in.

Among those who wore yellow for the day were youngsters at Maplehurst Nursery on The Ridge (pictured).

Julie Brett, spokesman for St Michael’s, said: “I am so grateful to everyone in the community who kindly wore yellow for the day and made a donation to our collection.

“The money that we have raised will be used to provide essential care for people.”
