DURING the summer the Hastings and St Leonards RSPB Group had some local walks and manned sales stalls at various events.
Now it starts its autumn programme with an illustrated talk by Ken Brooks entitled Hastings in Wartime at the Taplin Centre, Upper Maze Hill, St Leonards at 7.30pm this evening (Friday).
Ken will tell us how the caves were used for air raid shelters and there was barbed wire along the seafront and tank traps on the beaches.
Visitors are welcome for an admission charge of £3 including refreshment.
Anyone who is interested in further information on the group should visit www.rspb.org.uk/groups/hastings or ring 01424 751790.
