Jeremy Hudson was stand out player among club members at the International Chess Congress.

The retired schoolteacher from Bexhill received the Maureen Charlesworth Trophy for best overall performance by a local player, with successes in some of the subsidiary tournaments.

Steve Blewitt and Paul Kelly also won sections at that level.

Unfortunately there was nothing for us to write home about in the Masters, with only Francis Rayner surpassing the 50 per cent mark.
