THE Hastings and Rother U3A had a very busy year during 2012.
As well as its monthly meetings with speakers in July some members carried banners along the seafront at Bexhill and Hastings supporting the Olympics, celebrated the 30th anniversary of the U3A coming to the UK and the Queen’s Jubilee with a splendid afternoon tea at St Peter’s Community Centre.
They held their annual Group Activities Day in November and rounded off with a Christmas party with in-house entertainment in December.
There is a varied and interesting programme for 2013. Activities (over 50+ groups) covering art, crafts, bird watching, walking, languages, music, current affairs, philosophy, wood carving, access to physical activities and many more to choose from. They take place mainly in members’ homes across Hastings, Bexhill and Little Common.
Visitors are welcome to attend one of their monthly meetings (usually fourth Monday of the month) at St Peter’s Community Centre, Church Street, (Old Town) Bexhill, 9.30am (10.15am start) until noon and the next one is on January 28 at which Jackie March Hobbs will be speaking about Secrets of the Brighton Pavilion.
