Get ready for an attack

Preview: Harris Attack at The Rooms, Western Road, St Leonards, Friday, March 14.

MUSIC fans are being given another chance to see check out Jamie Harris' new band next month.

Harris Attack are playing at The Rooms in March and it is sure to be a popular gig among the local music scene.

Lead singer and guitarist Jamie played percussion and sang for several years with world music and jazz innovator Trevor Watts – first in Trevor's eight piece Celebration Band and then as part of a duo.

He was lucky enough to play concerts in The Gobi Desert (randomly on an iceberg right in the middle) , at Mongolia's first National Festival meeting of Shaman, in Brazil, Mexico, The Dominican Republic, in theatres across America and Europe and twice at the London Jazz Festival.

Also featured in the line-up are Roger Carey, Phil Hudson and Liam Genockey.

Roger Carey ,one of the south east's most skilled and prodigious bass guitar players, who as well as being one third of the Liane Carroll Trio and leading his own band Engine Clutch and Gearbox, has collaborated with numerous other musicians both locally and nationally.

Roger and Jamie first played together in The Celebration Band.

Guitarist Phil Hudson was awarded the European Young Jazz Soloist of the year 1991 and there after he became accomplished as a session musician, playing live or recording with various artists including The Light House Family, Mica Paris, Beverly Craven, Carleen Anderson and Beth Hirsch.

On drums, Liam Genockey is currently a member of folk rock legends Steeleye Span as well as being part of Hastings-based Buick 6.

He has also played with Trevor Watts, Gerry Rafferty, Paul Brady, John Martyn and Annie Whitehead to name a few.

Entry is 5 on the door, 3 for conessions and the band are due on stage at 9pm.
