A VOLUNTEER fundraiser is taking on the Hastings Half Marathon for 30 consecutive hours in a bid to raise money for Cancer Research UK.
The challenge, forming part of Louis Bedwell’s The One Expedition, will take place on the weekend of this year’s 30th anniversary of the race.
Louis, 20, of Vale Road, will be tackling the feat of endurance in a bid to raise £10,000 for Cancer Research UK by not only completing the course for 30 hours but also pulling a cart behind him.
The student, adventurer and entrepreneur decided to attempt the challenge after his mother was diagnosed with cancer. These events inspired him to set out to raise as much money as possible for Cancer Research UK.
In the past he has walked unsupported around the border of Sussex and spent 24 consecutive hours in a cross trainer.
Louis said: “This will definitely be my hardest challenge to date. 30 hours is a long time but with the added difficulty of hauling a cart and the terrain of the course it will definitely be a tough task.
“But it is one I am looking forward to.” For further information about The One Expedition visit www.theoneexpedition.co.uk.
