To say ‘thank you’ to its customers, Tesco’s Hasting Extra will be showing recent DVD release Bridget Jones’s Baby on a large screen in the car park on Sunday, March 19.

Motorists will be able to enjoy the film from the comfort of their own cars with the sound playing through their car speakers in a first for the Church Wood Drive store.

Store manager Michael Starr said: “We are delighted to be able to confirm the new date for the drive-in cinema and hope that our customers can join us for what should be a fantastic evening of entertainment.

“We wanted an opportunity to say thanks to our customers and thought that this was something exciting and a little bit different for everyone to enjoy.

“Bridget Jones’s Baby is such a fun film and we can’t wait to welcome the local community to the store to watch it, please be advised however that it is a 15 and so anyone under this age will not be permitted to enter.

“A trip to the cinema isn’t complete without popcorn, and a drink to wash it down with, luckily colleagues will be handing these out everyone who attends, so visitors only to need to bring themselves, their car and a blanket to keep warm.”

Customers should arrive from 6pm and the film is scheduled to start at 7pm or once the car park is full.

Entry to the free event will be on a first come, first served basis and so it is recommended to arrive early to avoid disappointment.

Larger vehicles will be positioned at the sides or towards the back to ensure visibility for everyone attending.

The event is weather-permitting and in case of high winds, it will be cancelled.
