THE town’s toilets have been hailed as top class, receiving 17 awards.
The accolades were given to Hastings Borough Council as part of the Loo of the Year Awards 2012, meaning that Hastings ranks seventh in the national local authority public toilet ‘Premier League’.
At a presentation held at the Town Hall last Thursday (December 13), the attendants and cleaning staff of 15 of the town’s loos received five star, gold awards and two facilities received four star, silver awards.
The Stade public toilets won the National Award for Beaches and Choice and Torfield allotment Rotaloos won the National Eco Friendly Toilet entry.
Councillor Emily Westley, the council’s lead member for environment and leisure, said: “I am very proud to be in a position to present these awards to the staff.”
