Firefighters attended several reports of flooding yesterday after the torrential rain in Hastings.

East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service were called to reports of a rescue from water being required on Frederick Road at around 12:15pm.

On arrival they found the junction between Valleyside and Frederick Road to be severely flooded but no people or vehicles were trapped.

Sussex Police also attended.

Firefighters were called to reports of flooding affecting electrics at a property in Warrior Square, St Leonards at 6am.

They found rain water entering the basement of the property from an underground drain.

Crews diverted the flow of water and an environmental pack was used.

Fire crews were also called to similar reports at a house in Brook Street at just past 12pm.

Crews isolated the leak and carried out a home safety visit with the occupier.
