The topic of our next meeting of the local support group for the Federation of Holistic Therapists on Wednesday, September 10 will be Rainbow Children.
Rainbow Children is about making magic happen and bringing ancient wisdom to life in a world of joy and celebration, where children have time to breathe, play, move, dance, relax, sing and soak up positive messages which enable them to flow through life’s challenges with ease.
Its mission is to light up world with a rainbow of dance, yoga, music, therapeutic stories and songs; inspiring creativity and resourcing the new generation of children to become all they can be. Self-expression, letting go of troubles that are difficult to find the right words to explain, or to even understand the emotion that a child has and does not yet understand what that feeling is.
It’s about teaching children to connect with themselves and with others in a positive manner that helps them to grow happy inside and out. It is also giving them an opportunity for them to be themselves, silently, for five to 10 minutes in art, to express an emotion without telling anyone what that feeling is about unless they want to discuss that feeling with their parent/guardian.
The yoga and dance provides gentle exercise that kids can have fun with as well as working on the body and mind. And it’s not only for children, adults can benefit from joining in and perhaps helping their own children and grand-children to reach their fullest potential.
Tanya Mitchell has recently trained in and started a popular Rainbow Children group in Hastings. She will be getting us to try out the moves, so please wear comfortable clothing if you want to take part. To find out more go to www.rainbowchildren.co.uk.
Reiki master and transpersonal coach, Dawn Cummins, is a local author from Bexhill who has just written her first book Message of Love and she will also be at the meeting explaining how her lovely book came into being. See Amazon for further details.
