STAFF at a chemists’ spent the day in fancy dress to raise money for charity recently.
A whole host of characters greeted shoppers at Laycock’s Pharmacy, in Old London Road, and a total of £158.10 was raised for St Michael’s Hospice.
Sales assistant Angie Fullerton said: “The customers loved it. We are very pleased with the amount raised.
“Because it was so close to Christmas, we weren’t really expecting it, but there were a few people putting in about £5 at a time, into the pot. All staff got into the fancy dress spirit, and costumes included Little Red Riding Hood, Princess Fiona, Snow White, Alice in Wonderland, one of the three pigs, Little Miss Muffet, Aladdin, the Genie, and an angel.”
