Exhibition brings animals to fore

editorial image

The Nature of Things: Animals in Art is a new exhibition to open at Hastings Museum and Art Gallery tomorrow (Saturday, January 26).

This exhibition is an eclectic selection of paintings, ceramics, prints and ephemera from the Museum’s permanent collection.

Some of the works are representations of working life such as Sheldon William’s Oxen Ploughing the Cuckmere, while in others animals are used as symbols, as in the Japanese woodblock prints.

It runs until April 7, and admission is free.

The gallery off Bohemia Road is open from Tuesday to Saturday.
