THE Embroiderers’ Guild year always begins in September when subscriptions become due, so if you have not yet renewed your subscription we look forward to seeing you in October when it is our AGM.
The date of the AGM is Saturday, October 19 and will be held in St Peter’s Community Centre, Old Town, Bexhill starting promptly at 2pm. This is an important meeting where you will learn of future plans for the East Sussex branch including speakers, workshops and our long awaited exhibition.
This year has seen a variety of interesting and entertaining speakers with many bringing along pieces from their textile collection.
We were fortunate to have Wendy Dolan lead a workshop in March and Claire Buckley is leading a workshop on Saturday, November 2.
After our branch AGM on October 19, November 16 will be the last meeting in 2013 and Arthur Ridley is our guest speaker who will be talking about the new techniques and materials now available and how they have helped him to develop his work of the years.
Arthur’s work is unique and a really great way to end our last meeting for this year.
There will be no meeting during the month of December 2013 and weather permitting we will be back to a full programme in January 2014.
For further details of the East Sussex branch, its programme and meeting dates please contact Brenda Amberge, secretary on 01424 731371.
