EASTER came early to The Stade on Saturday when an array of activities raised more than £2,500 for St Michael’s Hospice.

Hastings MP Amber Rudd opened the Easter Market, featuring 35 stalls, and judged fancy dress and colouring competitions.

Soon afterwards, 54 young athletes dashed for the finish line in the Easter Fun Run and Egg Hunt, which included a special appearance from the Easter bunny.

Visitors enjoyed music from Section 5 Drummers and some tried their luck at winning a giant 4.5kg Belgian chocolate Easter egg.

Ms Rudd praised the hospice fundraising team for organising the events and added: “It was fantastic to see so many children joining in the activities and dressing up and running races as part of the effort.”
