A man died after suffering a medical episode at the wheel of his car before it crashed into a wall in central St Leonards.
Emergency services found the 64-year-old man had crashed into the wall in Saxon Street after being called at around 10am yesterday (Wednesday, March 8).
It appeared the man may have suffered a medical episode at the wheel, police said.
He was treated by paramedics before being rushed to the Conquest Hospital in a life-threatening condition while they were trying to resuscitate him en route.
But he later died in hospital, a police spokesman said.
No details about the man other than his age are known at this time.
Numerous police cars and ambulances were seen in the surrounding roads yesterday morning with concerns from eye-witnesses there had been a serious incident.
A South East Coast Ambulance Service car was on the scene immediately before being joined by another car and an ambulance.
