THE MAN who died in hospital of a serious head injury after being found lying in a Bexhill street has been named.

James Hall, 38, of Warrior Square, St Leonards, was found in Kings Close, Bexhill, at around 12.15am yesterday (Sunday, July 29).

He was taken to the Royal Sussex County Hospital in Brighton and later transferred to Hurstwood Park Hospital where he died late yesterday evening.

Police are now satisfied that there are no suspicious circumstances surrounding his death.

Detective Inspector Andy Harbour, from East Sussex CID, said: “Following witness appeals we have now established that James spoke to a woman outside a house and told her that he had had a fall.

“However, it seems as though he was able to walk away and she thought no more of it until seeing the appeal.

“Sadly, it seems as though James then collapsed in Kings Close where he was found by someone returning home locally.

“From what we have learnt from another witness who has also come forward, we are now satisfied that there are no suspicious circumstances surrounding James’s death and the matter has been passed to the coroner’s officer.”
