DANCE company Morris Offspring and folk trio Faustus brought hundreds of people to The Stade for their performance of The Furnace.
Bringing a contemporary slant to a folk tradition, Morris Offspring took Morris dancing to a new level of creativity, and held the audience mesmerised for two hours on Saturday (June 1).
This was in fact the penultimate show from Morris Offspring before the company disbands after 10 years, which brought added emotion to the performance.
Michael Hambridge, arts and cultural development officer at Hastings Borough Council, said: “It struck the right note, and a very Hastings note.
“On the one hand, people who like Morris dancing and even the Morris dancers seemed to be enthusiastic about it, and on the other hand, people coming from contemporary dance or folk music, enjoyed it.”
