HASTINGS cycling fans who enjoy raising cash for charity are being asked to consider a new event starting up in Eastbourne.
Bourne 2 Bike, which has a range of rides for all ages and abilities, takes place on October 2 at Eastbourne Sports Park in aid of the Arthritic Association.
All money raised will go towards easing the pain of arthritis by funding therapy grants for its members.
The association, a national charity based in Upperton Gardens in Eastbourne, has around 3,000 members taking part in its drug-free programme which includes an eating plan and therapy treatments.
Newly-appointed chief executive, Lynda Scott-Williams, is hoping to raise awareness of both the condition and the charity. She said: “Our aims are to reduce pain, increase mobility and as a result increase people’s independence which will ultimately give them a better quality of life.”
It is hoped Bourne 2 Bike will become an annual event and organisers at the Arthritic Association want the people of 1066 Country to make the first one a success.
The Arthritic Association is appealing for event sponsors, and also helpers, some who have been CRB checked, and marshals to line the various bike routes.
Anyone who would like to sponsor or Bourne 2 Bike or help out should call 01323 416550 or send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org.
