Woman slapped in face while in town centre

A WOMAN was hit in the face and head while walking in the town centre on July 30.

The 44-year-old was near the underpass in Harold Place with her partner when the attack happened just after 10.30pm.

Her assailant slapped her in the face and head.

The victim was slim, around 5ft 4ins tall and had blonde bobbed hair. She wore a red/pink patterned dress.

Police said the attacker was around 43, had a shaved head and wore a white shirt.

Several people were walking past as the attack happened and investigating officers would like to speak to them.
