TWO teenagers have been charged with attempted robbery after an eagle-eyed CCTV operator saw what appeared to be a gang forcing a man to withdraw money from a cash point.
Fortunately the victim did not have any money stolen during his ordeal and three men were arrested.
A 16-year-old who cannot be named for legal reasons, 19-year-old John Burr, of Beaconsfield Road, along with 21-year-old Charlie Hope, of Ebenezer Road, were arrested after the incident at about 5.15am on Sunday morning.
Burr, who was also charged with possession of a knife in a public place, appeared before Hastings Magistrates Court on Monday. He was remanded in custody and will appear back on March 25 for the case to be committed to Lewes Crown Court.
Hope will appear before magistrates on Thursday, January 20, along with the teenager.
