TWO men and a woman were attacked as they sat on a bench in Alexandra Park.
The victims aged 25, 26 and 30 were approached by a teenage boy and a man in his 20s at around 12.35am, on August 19, as they sat near the rangers’ office.
An altercation ensued before the three victims were all punched several times in the face.
They were treated at the scene by paramedics.
PC Andy Lancaster from East Sussex response investigation team said: “This was a nasty attack on three people sitting on a park bench, minding their own business.
“Although it happened in the early hours of the morning, the park is a popular area and we would like to hear from anyone who has information as to what happened and led up to the assaults.
“Were you on your way home and heard or saw any suspicious activity - if so, please call 101 quoting serial 0070 of 19/8 or you can leave a message anonymously via the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
A 25-year-old man and a 15-year-old boy, both from Hastings, were arrested on suspicion of assault in Laton Road a few hours later.
They have both been bailed until September 19 pending further enquiries.
