A TEENAGE boy was assaulted as he walked alone.

The boy, from St Leonards, was attacked in London Road on Thursday, October 4, at 6.50pm.

Police officers on a routine patrol of the area saw the boy on the ground surrounded by a group of girls and boys of a similar age.

The officers spoke to the group and discovered that the boy on the floor had been assaulted.

The victim said he had also been assaulted about 20 minutes earlier in Warrior Square.

He suffered injuries to his head, face and back, but did not require hospital treatment.

Two 13-year-old boys and a 14-year-old boy, all from St Leonards, were arrested on suspicion of Actual Bodily Harm. They were questioned and bailed until November 8.

PC Dione Powell said: “The boy was visibly shaken and frightened by this experience and I urge anyone with any information to come forward.
